Portland Snow Creatures

pinesnowcreature011707pdx.JPGpinesnowcreatures011707pdx.JPGtemplesnowbear.JPGLast Sunday night, we had a small snowstorm here in Portland, Oregon (USA). It went on a few days, the snow melting a little and freezing at night. Schools closed. The mayor asked people to stay home.

After years in Minnesota, I don’t like snow. Fortunately, it doesn’t snow in Portland every winter.

I reluctantly walked out in the snow to do some errands. I am happy to report that I spotted several extraordinary snow creatures. I went back for my camera and took these pictures. I think this Buddhist snow-bear (and snow-duck) is the best snowman I’ve ever seen in my life. buddhist-snowbear.JPG

These creations by my neighbors changed my feelings about the snowstorm.
